AHLA Board of Directors Nominations Open

Alberta’s hotel community thrives when industry leaders step forward. If you’re passionate about strengthening our sector and shaping its future, consider putting your name forward for the AHLA Board of Directors.

The Board plays a pivotal role in guiding the AHLA's strategic direction and ensuring Alberta hotels continue to prosper. We’re looking for committed hoteliers who:

  • Believe in the power of collaboration.
  • Want to tackle the biggest challenges facing Alberta’s accommodation sector.
  • Are ready to contribute to a progressive, integrity‑driven Board.
  • Take pride in serving and supporting fellow hoteliers.
  • Embrace both challenge and opportunity.

 

Key Election Details

  • Nominations are open until February 20, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Six seats are up for election in 2026.
  • Elections will take place March 2 – 6, 2026.

 

To comply with the AHLA Bylaws and support sustainable Board succession, the 2026 election will assign terms as follows:

  • The 3 candidates with the highest percentage of vote share will receive a 2-year term.
  • The 3 candidates with the lowest percentage of vote share will receive a 1-year term.

 

Application Details

Eligible candidates must be AHLA members in good standing and complete the full nomination package by February 20, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

  • Download the AHLA Board of Directors Recruitment Package and Employer Letter of Support
  • Complete the Competency Matrix.
  • Submit the Nomination Form, you must be nominated by another AHLA member in good standing.
  • Ensure all components of the nomination package are submitted by February 20 for eligibility review.
  • The Governance Committee will review all nominations to confirm candidate eligibility.
  • Elections will be held March 2–6, 2026, with results announced shortly after.
