The AHLA's convention is an ideal time to recognize your staff and their achievements before your industry peers, and provide them with high calibre professional development.
Housekeeping Awards
The 2010 Housekeeping Awards will be presented at a gala dinner on the evening of Monday, April 19, 2010. Recipients of the 2010 Housekeeping Awards were notified in October 2009. The AHLA encourages award recipients to bring their staff to be recognized for their achievement.
The deadline for nominations for the following awards is Friday, March 19, 2010.
Gold Key Award
The Gold Key Award celebrates the contribution of employees at all levels who exemplify the attitude and dedication needed to serve our guests and promote Alberta's tourism industry. Recipients receive a certificate and gold lapel pin to recognize their commitment to the hospitality industry. Eligibility criteria:
- Nominees are evaluated on length of service, performance and personal development
- Nominees must have a minimum of 10 years of service in the accommodation industry.
- AHLA member properties may nominate up to two (2) individuals each year.

Award of Distinction
The Award of Distinction is presented to AHLA members who exemplify the very best qualities of the people working in the accommodation industry. Eligibility criteria:
- Nominee must be a manager or owner/operator of an AHLA member property in good standing.
- Through their actions, the nominee must have gained the respect of their colleagues and advanced the reputation of their business and community.
- The nominee must support the AHLA by participating in its programs, services and events and by contributing to the association's objectives.The nominee must have been a manager or owner/operator of a property for a minimum of 25 years.
- The nominator must be another AHLA member in good standing.

The Menu Awards will not be offered in 2010.
